In January 2019, we had the heartbreaking news that our Dad had Metastatic Lung Cancer. We had so many questions but, most of all we were thinking how do we explain all this to Dad.
The first time we went to the Guys Cancer Centre, we were welcomed in a place that was tranquil, calm, informative and helpful, especially by all the staff and volunteers. As our dad was blind and wasn’t able to walk far, as soon as we went into the Cancer Centre they helped us go to the different areas of the building with ease. As his cancer was metastatic, we thought there was no hope however the Consultants gave my dad hope and enough to fight by offering him Chemotherapy, without this our dad would’ve lost his fight sooner.
We are thankful for the eighteen months we spent with our dad and we are so grateful to Guys Cancer Centre, this is why we want to raise money for this remarkable place which helps patients battle cancer everyday.
